THE
PROCESS
Feel free to contact
me either by phone or email.
- We can discuss
what you have in mind such as number of pets and background
- I email you a contract.
I require 25% nonrefundable deposit at this point. This can be paid
by check, money order or PayPal, which takes credit card payments, including
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express cards
- You send me as
many photosas possible by mail along with the form.
- I email you a
rough computer draft of your pet portrait.
- You agree with
the computer draft or I make the necessary changes. We will correspond
back and forth until you are completely satisfied with the rough draft.
- I require another
25% nonrefundable deposit when we have agreed and before starting the
painting.
- I send you an email
of a photo of the finished painting.
- Upon acceptance,
I require the balance due after which I will send the painting to you.
- All mailed photos
will be mailed back to you with your final painting.
Normal turnaround time is approximately 6 to 8 weeks. If you have an
earlier deadline requiring top priority, there is a 25% charge. Holidays
are especially busy so consider placing your order at least 6 months
in advance.
I retain full reproduction copyright on all work. You may reproduce
the painting for non-commercial purposes.
Rough Draft
Decide if you want the painting horizontal or vertical and the size
you want. I create a rough draft of your portrait on the PC using your
scanned in photos. I remove or adjust the background to suit your needs.
I can also remove unwanted features in the photo. This will help you
envisage what the portrait will look like once painted, especially if
it involves multiple changes or additions. The rough draft is emailed
for approval. This is only a guide.
Photos
I work from photos. Send as many as you can, however I only work from
one single photo of each pet. (I can create a group of pets together
from single photos). Tell me which photo you feel is the best representation
of your pet. Choose one that captures their personality and character.
Mail prints at the highest resolution possible or on a CD. All photos
are returned. For information on taking good photos, click on photos
button.
